My sister Mindy tagged me, so now I have to share 8 random facts about me. Here goes:
1. I LOVE to get good deals, and I am a bargain shopper. When it comes to clothes, I will probably won't buy it unless it's on sale (and a pretty smokin' deal). My sister Kayla and I were joking that whenever anyone says to us "Cute shirt," we pretty much always respond "Thanks, I got it for $__." I totally look at the grocery store ads and compare prices. I usually only end up going to Fry's (because I can usually get the biggest bang for my buck there) and price match the other good deals at Wal-Mart, unless there is a smokin' deal going on. I've also become a fan of the Sister Savings website, because it lists all the grocery store deals in one place.
2. I'm a CPA who doesn't do taxes. Well, I've done my own (and mine and David's) for about 5 years now, but that's it. When I was working for the accounting firm I was an auditor (not for the IRS), in which businesses would pay us to come and look at their books for them to make sure there wasn't fraudulent activity going on. It's kind of one of my pet peeves that everyone assumes that I know about taxes. I took one class in college on them, and that's pretty much the extent of my knowledge (and I've forgotten most of that, I'd have to look it up).
3. I suffer from "Mom-nesia." I seriously think that my memory has gone down hill since I had Josh. I don't know if it's because I'm not using my brain in the same way anymore or what, but I forgot things all the time! I know I used to forget things before I had Josh, but it's even worse now.
4. Because I suffer from the above disorder, I am a list maker. I have to make lists for everything, or else I'll forget it. I have a grocery list, a Wal-Mart list, a list of things I need to remember to take with us to Shumway this weekend, a list of memories of my dad that have come to me over the past few weeks that I don't want to forget, a list of possible gift ideas for David, etc. When I first got tagged for this, I started a list of random things I could write about myself, because I knew I would forget them if I didn't write them down.
5. I won't drink a glass of milk, but I will drink the milk in my bowl after I finish all the cereal in it. David thinks it's weird that I grew up on a ranch and don't like milk. I say, there are a lot of people who don't drink milk, many in my family included.
6. I'm afraid to try new things if I don't think I'll be good at them. I guess I worry too much about what other people think of me.
7. I was cut from the 8th grade volleyball team, which was probably one of the best things, sports-wise, that ever happened to me. It made me work a LOT harder.
8. It kind of bugs me when people don't use adverbs correctly. It must be because I was dubbed a grammar policeman back in HS by Miss Cunningham. It used to be that I would verbally correct someone if I would hear them use an adverb incorrectly, but now for the most part I keep it inside. (I probably shouldn't have have listed this last one, because there are probably a lot of grammatical errors that I make on a regular basis, including the improper use of adverbs.)
I've seen a lot of "tags" on blogs lately, but I don't remember reading any on these peoples' blogs, so here's who I'm tagging: Tiffini, Danielle & Carli. (But I won't be offended if you don't want to do it, guys!)

Amy, I love reading these things. So many similariities!
I also say where I got things and how much I paid for them! (My furniture mostly: DI, my clothes mostly Ross. Everything mostly cheap...)
And I too suffer from momnesia pretty frequently.
The only milk I drink is out of my cereal.
I still have grammar police flashbacks every now and again.
I am with you on good deals. I know it's not exactly close to you, but there is a Ranch Market on Main St. between Greenfield & Higley that has the best deals on produce. I LOVE it. And when someone says "Cute shirt" to me, it's usually a hand-me-down from Angela. :)
#2: Ditto (except I'm not a CPA and I kind of pretend to do taxes) so I guess just ditto on the audit stuff.
I am the same on 5, 6 and 7. So it looks like I'm just a dumb, lazy version of you because I don't even know what an adverb is and I didn't care that I got cut from 8th grade volleyball. :) I guess you are more smarter than me. Ha ha. :)
Hey Amy. Ya I remember you....and I appreciate the comment. I am truly truly sorry to hear about your dad. I know the gospel certainly lessens the sting of pain and sorrow....but nevertheless....I have felt that sting and I know its still there. Time will definitely help... I envy the time you had spent with him in recent years. I often wonder what my life would have been like had my father been alive past 15 years old...ya know? anyway...I hope the spirit guides you and comforts you and your family!!!! Just remember to keep smiling! he's watchin you!
Amy! I am so glad you found my blog! It was so good to see you at the funeral. Now I can keep in touch even better seeing your blog. Hope you are doing good!

I hear ya on the memory thing. My memory is TERRIBLE now. It does seem to get better as McKay gets older and I notice I am a lot better when I don't have him with me (not very often!) I think I too have all those lists you mentioned! Gotta love the little guys!
What fun! I love to read "tags". I make lists too...I agree about the forgeting things after having a baby! That sister savings web site is the best!! I never look at the ads anymore!!
It is good to be thrifty. I think the adverb issue is pretty funny. And I can't believe you got cut from the volleyball team in eight grade. What were they thinking?
If having Momnesia makes you have lists and that's it, then that's great! Lists are my friend too :) My best momnesia moment to date is plowing into our old truck with the back end of our car. I forgot it would be there in the driveway! I would take a list over that!
Yeah, we have a lot in common Amy! It must be the accountant blood...
I don't think any of you kids like milk! Brandon doesn't but it's only because Tyler didn't!
I just typed out the longest comment ever (well, maybe not ever...but, it was pretty long) and then I got kicked off the Internet when I went to post it. AAA! Annoying.
Anyway...I love reading these things about people!
I can't believe you got kicked off the 8th grade volleyball team! But, I'm glad it gave you the determination to work harder. I got kicked off the 7th grade basketball team and never tried out again. (says a lot about me, huh?) :) I just remember being so upset about spending my entire Christmas vacation getting up early to go to try-outs and then getting kicked off. Plus...let's face it...I wasn't really that good. I just enjoyed playing. Oh well!
Who was the coach that cut you? What was he or she thinking? I miss playing v-ball and b-ball with you. Good times! I'm sorry that i don't use adverbs correctly. i'm not the best at writing so bear with me:)
You should cross out number six cause everyone thinks you are GREAT! (including me) I've got nothing but love for ya!
Thant's funny you don't like milk. I like it, but I won't share it cause it's white and if someone dropped a little backwash in it, you would be able to tell.
Amy, I love this post! Why? Because I don't drink milk out of a glass either (but I will drink it out of my cereal bowl) - AND - any post that gives a nod to Miss C deserves a remark from a fellow former student. :) I love that she dubbed you a grammar cop. Gosh, that sounds so like her... And I have to say, I couldn't agree more on the annoyance of inappropriate adverbs. I'm a grammar snob myself (even though I know that I make gross grammatical errors all the time), so I totally relate to this post!
I too suffer from momesia...isn't it so fun!!
It made me laugh that you were one of Miss Cunningham's grammar police, as well...I know she would probably just cringe to see some of the things I write (and, let's face it, say) these days, but I still get irritated when people don't use adverbs correctly. So funny!
Hey Aim,
Are you going up to Snowflake for the 24th celebration? If not, I'm in the valley right now and want to see you. We'll be here until Wed morning. Let me know. YFC
You are too cute!!! I am so glad you have a blog so I can see what is going on. I want to see pictures of Josh. I am sure he is getting so big. Hope you have a great day. love ya
